Any day is a nice day for a white Hart wedding. If you are looking for a smaller, more intimate country setting for your Westcountry wedding you won’t find a location as romantic as the White Hart Hotel on Dartmoor. Set in the heart of the market town of Moretonhampstead, the Hotel is large enough to offer all the room, attention to detail and service you need, yet small enough to feel intimate and homely.

Dating back to 1639, The White Hart Hotel was originally a Posting Inn for horse-drawn carriages crossing the open moor looking for shelter. The horses would be changed, and the weary passengers treated to a home cooked meal, a pint of local ‘scrummy’ cider and a warm bed for the night. The Hotel has long offered a comforting beacon for travellers. It is now a family-owned hotel, with roaring fires, delicious meals, cosy beds, and a warm welcome still awaits every one of our guests.

The Hotel is Grade II listed and we take great pride in being its current custodians and have sympathetically refurbished it to provide all modern comforts within a traditional setting.

Holding your Special Day at The White Hart Hotel, our Stag Suite is ideal for a gathering of up to 45 guests. There’s something very special about an intimate wedding, surrounded only by your very closest family and friends. The Stag Suite is the perfect space for a smaller cosy wedding breakfast and celebration.

Your first meal together as a married couple has to be unforgettable with only the finest local ingredients & wines to compliment the days celebrations. Each of our wedding menus promise local fresh produce, or work with our head chef to create a seasonal menu unique to your day.

The Hotel can also offer you and your guests 17 individually designed en-suite bedrooms with a pillow-hugging welcome. Tastefully furnished, no two rooms are the same, reflecting the architecture of this historic building with its interesting nooks and crannies.
