The White Hart Hotel, on the edge of Dartmoor, is easily accessible from the A30 and A38, and offers all the freedom of a real escape coupled with modern, flexible facilities.

Our experienced events team understand what you need and are there to support you. We ensure the day is perfectly planned in advance, with tailored space options and refreshments to suit your requirements. Just call our reception team to talk through your ideas.

We have a variety of catering options available, from buffet to afternoon tea or a more formal meal. Our available Hotel also gives the option to stay-over. We have 17 rooms available with discounted accommodation rates for delegates.

Nestled on the edge of Dartmoor, The White Hart Hotel has been at the heart of the historic market town of Moretonhampstead for 380 years. From the Hotel you can explore miles of coastline, unspoilt villages, National Trust properties, and all those wonderful places we have missed so much. We have taken the opportunity to make some exciting changes at the Hotel. Our reception, lounge and bar have had a stylish makeover, whilst many of our bedrooms have had a fresh new look, bringing out their individual character and the distinctive nature of the historic building. The stylish new feel reflects the warm welcome everyone gets at the Hotel, with our famous hospitality, food, and comfort.

Business & Conference layout options for the Stag Suite

Dating back to 1639, The White Hart Hotel was originally a Posting Inn for house-drawn carriages crossing the open Moor from Exeter to Princetown, looking for shelter in the night. The horses would be changed, and the weary passengers treated to a homecooked meal, a pint of local ‘scrumpy’ cider and a warm bed for the night. The hotel has a long offered a comforting beacon on a cold night for travellers. It is now a family-owned Hotel, but a roaring fire, delicious meal, cosy bed, and a warm welcome still awaits every one of our guests.

The Hotel is Grade ll listed and we take great pride in being its current custodians and have sympathetically refurbished it to provide all modern comforts within a traditional setting. We are proud that the Hotel plays an important part in the heart of the town.
