TASTE at the hart of Dartmoor

We believe in delivering good, honest homemade food. Our menu reflects this by offering perennial favourites like Devonshire Pork Sausages and our popular White Hart Beef Burger to Vegetable Linguine and Pan Seared Salmon. There is something for everyone. At lunchtime we offer a great selection of sandwiches served with skinny fries and side salad.

Devon is blessed with an abundance of fresh, quality produce. We are surrounded by rolling farmland and the county has a huge coastline, so sourcing fresh local meat, game and fish is no problem for our chefs.

All our ingredients are sourced from local suppliers – like local Moretonhampstead butcher Michael Howard who supplies our meat and AJ Whites fresh fruit and vegetables. We believe in letting the quality of the ingredients speak for themselves.

Fruit & Veg

Westcountry Fruit Sales has been supplying fruit and vegetables since the middle of the nineteenth century. They work closely with farmers and growers to source local produce, from potatoes to specialist market garden crops, including the wonderful soft fruit grown in the South West.

Meat

Dartmoor Farmers Association, formed in 2007 with the support of HRH, the Prince of Wales, was devised to adopt a more holistic approach to finding a market for the area’s unique product. Along with the Dartmoor Partnership and the Dartmoor National Park Authority they work towards a sustainable future for both farming and tourism. The cattle and sheep create the landscape that brings the tourists to the area and local businesses support the farmers by creating a market for their products. We believe that livestock fed on a grass diet will result in a leaner meat that is higher in meat quality, flavour and nutritional value.
