At the White Hart Hotel and Restaurant our chefs are passionate about using the very finest local ingredients. The South West and, in particular Dartmoor, is renowned for its many wonderful artisan producers and suppliers: From Dartmoor-reared livestock and locally grown fruit and vegetables to crafted cheeses, ice creams and drinks.
Our special Dartmoor Food & Drink Evening will bring together some of the very best of these producers for you to come and meet. They will be on hand to offer ideas and advice, as well as serving up tasty samples for you to try.
At The White Hart we are committed to using local ingredients and supporting local producers wherever possible. So, come along and see for yourself the passion and hard work that makes Dartmoor such a special place for great food and drink.

Produced on Stockbeare Farm in the shadow of Dartmoor, Curworthy is a beautiful, full flavoured hard cheese traditionally made the Devon Farmhouse way.

From Moretonhampstead, Michael Howard master butchers supply our chefs in the kitchen with only the very best cuts of meat. They will be here on the day to offer up ideas and advice on the best meat for you to try at home.
Dartmoor Ice Cream
The Dartmoor Ice Cream Co produces batch-made artisan ice cream from local dairy ingredients. Many of our chunks and sauces are hand made and they aim to produce as close as possible to the creamy richness of home-made ice cream.
AJ Whites Green Grocers
AJ Whites is a familiar site in the centre of Moretonhamptead, having been supplying the town and the White Hart Hotel wonderful local fruit and vegetables for many years.
The highest brewery in England, based in Princetown, Dartmoor Brewery have been refreshing the locals round these parts since 1994. If you haven’t tried Jail Ale, Legend or Dragon’s Breath before you are in for a treat!
Tors Vodka take British soft winter spirit and blend it with Dartmoor spring water. They then charcoal filter for up to 3 months. They add fresh fruit, sugar syrup and more spring water to create unique cocktail liqueurs.
Based in Honiton, Northcott’s produce a wonderful range of traditional and flavoured ciders. They only use locally sourced ingredients from around the West Country – the home of real cider.
A wonderful gin made with fresh Dartmoor spring water from the nearby farm where the Pearl Bordered Fritillaries flutter and infused with evocative Dartmoor flavours of gorse, hawthorn, rowan, chamomile and Devon violets.
